Weddings · Llechwen Hall

Married on the hill.

Six acres of hilltop countryside, with the whole valley laid out beneath you.

The Venue

Everything on one hill.

Llechwen Hall sits in six acres of hilltop countryside above the Cynon Valley, twenty minutes from Cardiff. The ceremony, the wedding breakfast, the evening party and the bedrooms are all on the one hill.

A personal wedding co-ordinator looks after you from your first visit to the end of the night. In 2018 the team here were named Best Wedding Venue Co-ordinators in Wales.

Four spaces, forty-four bedrooms, and only ever one wedding a day.

The Spaces

The rooms, and the hill they sit on.

The ceremony room, stone walls and oak beams, set with an aisle of petals

The Ceremony Room

Bare stone, oak beams and an aisle the length of the room. Doors at the far end open straight onto the light. Weddings here run from two guests upwards.

The Garden Marquee laid for a wedding breakfast

The Garden Marquee

The largest of the four, opening onto the lawn. Long tables, a dance floor, and room to seat a considerable number of people without anyone feeling far from the front.

The orangery restaurant, glass roof and bi-fold doors open onto the lawn

The Orangery

A glass roof, doors that fold back onto the lawn, and the valley beyond them. Added by the present owners, and where most of the eating and the lingering happens.

Dry stone wall and the valley beyond

The Grounds

Dry stone walls, open lawn and a view that runs the length of the valley. The reason most couples stop looking once they have driven up.

Canapes laid out on marble and slate boards

The Table

Nobody remembers a bad lunch fondly.

The kitchen here has won awards for what it does on an ordinary Tuesday. On the day itself it does wedding menus, canapés and grazing buffets, served in the orangery with the doors open, or out on the lawn if the weather behaves.

Dietary requirements are handled quietly and without fuss. So is the wine list.
